Summary: Back by popular demand! As presented at the 2023 CAHPI National Annual Conference, in this session, Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP associate Sarah Mack and articling student Amy Kallio will conduct a mock examination for discovery of a home inspector and present an opening statement at trial. Inspectors will gain insight into the case law surrounding the standard of care expected in the profession and will learn what types of questions to expect in the event that a claim is made against them. They will also learn how the law would apply to their evidence for the purposes of trial. All questions are welcomed and encouraged.
