Building Code Services – Secondary Dwelling Units (1.5 MRCs)

We will be discussing secondary dwelling units – room areas, fire separations, exits, windows, ceiling heights, Zoning, permitting, etc.

Presenter: Ian Kelly

Ian Kelly is Building Official with the City of Ottawa Building Code Services branch. His roles include review of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for Building Code compliance, instructing technical training and courses for staff members and external stakeholders, as well representing Building Code Services as a member of the Special Events Advisory Team. Ian has been with Building Code Services for 13 years as a Building Official both in the inspections and permit approvals divisions.
